On successful completion of this program, and on approval of an application to the Department of Queensland Transport and Main Roads ( TMR ), the trainee will be able to control traffic on a road way using a Stop/Slow bat in accordance with legislative requirements and guidelines set out in the MUTCD Part 3.
For candidates who wish to undertake Traffic Control Renewal training the following applies: - Must hold a current QLD Traffic Control licence. - Must be able to provide currency of industry practice of at least 32 hours as a Traffic Controller in the last 12 months. - Undergo a criminal history check carried out by the Department of Transport and Main Roads. - Have a valid Unique Student Identifier ( USI ).
Theory: 8 hours To achieve a successful outcome participants will be assessed on the evidence collected from a range of activities included in the two parts of the assessment. Part 1 - Theory Written assessment which requires a 100% pass mark Part 2 - Currency of Industry Practice Practical assessment based on completion of practical exercise and assessment of the students currency in the industry. This will be done utilising the The Currency of Industry Practice Evidence Verification Process.

Traffic Controller Accreditation is issued for 3 years. It is your responsibility to ensure that you maintain current accreditation when performing Traffic Controller duties, and that you keep your contact details up to date by notifying the Department of Queensland Transport and Main Roads ( TMR ) of any changes.
